Day of Reckoning!

The day has quickly approached for us to register Girlie Girl for school starting this fall. As a mom, I’m proud of the accomplishment of having a well-rounded, mannerly, very intelligent, spiritually equipped and beautiful daughter. I’m happy that she has finally gotten to the age to go off into the world of formal education, however after almost four years of having her all to myself in the cocoon of our family, it’s a very sad time for me. I’m sure as the day draws nearer,< I may become even more anxious, but I’m confident that God will watch over her and she will be able to adapt to this new routine effortlessly. Pray for me ya’ll :-)

Invitations/Celebrations: The Dilemna!

Girlie Girl and Miss Priss receive many invitations to birthday parties, special celebrations and play dates.  However, we're not always able to attend every event.  How do you determine which events to attend and which ones to graciously decline?

Feel free to post a comment or send me an email at: girliepost@gmail.com.  All emails/comments are welcome and will be answered.

A typical week in the lives of three and two year old fashionistas

Girlie Girl and Miss Priss’ week usually begins on Friday.  They start their day off with breakfast and educational programming.  After midday prayer, they have lunch followed by a 2 to 3 hour nap (a girl needs plenty beauty rest).  After nap, they are immediately whisked off to the salon (the kitchen sink) to have their hair shampooed, conditioned and styled in preparation for any weekend plans.  Here are a couple pictures of before and after washing/conditioning using my home made leave in conditioner.

Saturdays vary…either they are relaxing at home or shopping with their parents.
Sunday they are up early in preparation for church service.  They have breakfast, get dolled up, have their hair styled and are off.  Here are a few pictures of their cutie patootie Sunday outfits.
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are low key days involving mainly devotion, play and educational programs.
Wednesday is another busy day.  They start the day off as usual, but after nap they immediately are being prepared for Bible Study at their place of worship.  By 6pm they are bathe, fed, hair styled and are all dolled up.  Here are a few pictures of their Wednesday night attire .
This is a typical week for the fashionistas.  It may vary according to their parents scheduling.  Life will soon become more hectic once school starts in the fall for Girlie Girl.  That is a journey she is eagerly anticipating.
What’s a typical week like for you and your fashionistas?  If you would like to know what products or styling methods I use, feel free to post a comment or send me a private email at girliepost@gmail.com.

Out of the mouths of babes!

Kids say the darndest things don’t they??  Our girls come up with some of the cutest, funniest and interesting sayings.  Here are a few of their quotes:
Girlie Girl:  “Everything works with pink!”  “Girls always have to practice!”  “Daddy do you want me to give you the best kiss you’ve ever had?”  (Excuse me, but I think I’ve already done that! Lol).  “Mommy, I’m sorry I made you so upset (insert tears here)”
What are some of the cute and interesting things that come out of your children’s mouths??  If you are brave enough to relinquish that info :-)

Introductions

The Girls:  Girlie Girl (3 years old)  and Miss Priss (2 Years old)

A cymbal crash, a pepper dash and jasmine flowers round,
soft angels’ wings, a bluejay sings and babbling brook the sounds.
Fresh darling small, Ms. Know It All, such time has slipped away.
Like fallen leaves to hear her breathe gives meaning to the day.
Behind her smile, enchant, beguile, whole worlds within her eyes.
My gift from God, designer shod, my beautiful surprise.

A beam of light, my morning bright, laughter in a bean,
Beloved skin, the perfect grin, the like I’ve never seen.
Eyes like jewels, silk hair by spools, a smile to shame the sun.
A world of play and every day is a perfect one.
Could I have thought, this child I’ve wrought, would make my life sublime?
I’ll let you know, each day you grow, I’m glad that you are mine.
You are the perfect introduction

About Me

My photo
The sublime, the serene, the sensational; a snapshot of the moments and memories shared with my daughters as well as the environments, fashions and daydreams that go along with them. You’re invited to enjoy these as much as I have and do (well, almost as much) and to add your own positive input on the special girlie bits of your lives.
